Dining at Amaan Bungalows Amaan Bungalows offers 3 different restaurants. Lion Fish Restaurant, Fish King Restaurant and the Fat Fish Restaurant The Lion Fish restaurant is the smallest and more intimate of the three. Among the selections there are seafood meals, burgers and a large pizza menu from where you can pick your favourite. Recommended for romantic dinners as you enjoy the gentle sound of the waves on the shore and the moon reflecting on the water. It is open for Lunch and dinner. The Fish King Restaurant is the largest of the three, beautifully constructed on a raised pier overlooking the Ocean. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are server here offering daily specialities, fresh seafood meals and exquisite local dishes. The Fat Fish Restaurant is one of the more popular restaurants in the area, along with the festive pub that can be found here in which the friendly staff can prepare for you any combination of exotic cocktails and the local entertainment and DJ’s will keep you going until the early hours of the morning. We decided to go to Zanzibar suddenly in December 2011 and Africa Stay managed to find availability for us at Amaan Bungalows. We didn’t know much about Nungwi area or Zanzibar but Diana at AfricaStay was very knowlegible on the whole area and this was one of the few resorts still available on those dates and within our price range. Once we arrived at Amaan I realized that Nungwi is the best area of Zanzibar and the beautiful beaches are the best in Zanzibar! Amaan bungalow is absolutely central and in the middle of the best beaches of the island. A suggestion: chose a room with sea view! Thank you Diana and Africa Stay for this amazing holiday in Zanzibar.

Amaan Bungalows have nice large rooms with good bathrooms. They provide additional towels to take to the beach which is excellent and change all towels each day. They have two very nice restaurants if you do not want to venture out and are reasonably priced and compare well with most other restaurants near by.

Just want to thank you firstly for the arrangements and support for our holiday spent in Zanzibar. Know we had to change times and dates several times due to my schedule. Firstly I want to say that from arrival up until our departure after 24 days, we were treated like royalty by the staff. The management and staff from cleaners up has been so helpful, and we lacked for nothing. The room was great, sea-facing and with nice small verandah on the beach. Restaurants provided excellent meals. As we had half board our breakfast and dinner was included. We could hardly ever get to use our allowed budget as food was always so good and filling. Struggled to get dessert done as well. The management looking at this at own discretion spoiled us with fruit, juices, drinks and so much more. The things that strike you is when you see top management together with ALL the staff go out and clean the beach for instance for visitors to enjoy. We saw daily inspections in restaurants and kitchens as well to ensure everything was 100% at all times. The facilities was great, shops, pool , all perfect. We went there as visitors and left as part of a family, spoiled even with cake night before departure. We will be back there next year as we feel it is the perfect place to be. For MR Arshad and his team, I take my hat off to you. Again for Africa stay and Sun tours, as our touring operators, Amaan is a place well recommended.

Amaan Bungalows is a basic resort but the rooms are clean and look pretty nice with sealing designed in African stile. The Front Beach Rooms have has stunning views of the sea, AC, hot water and clean bathroom. The breakfast was not very big but overall it was a good experience. Thank you AfricaStay team. We will be back in Zanzibar soon.
