Activities at Baines' Camp This area, situated on a private concession neighbouring the Moremi, is superb for viewing all animal and bird species. Guests may explore by land and water, often into the night to discover nocturnal species. The permanent water of the camp will reveal a world of floating safaris, atmospherically silent at the gentle pace of a poled mokoro (dug-out-canoe) excursion, or faster in a comfortable shaded motorboat (subject to water levels). A myriad of waterways, feathery beds of papyrus, and animal species, large and small, are waiting to be discovered. Sometimes there is no better way to tune into the bush than on foot, and walking safaris is a speciality at Baines', with skilled, armed guides introducing the area's natural wonders. The choice of activities will not end there. The unique and educational elephant interaction is available to guests at Baines'. I and my wife visited Baines Camp in November 2009 and were pleasantly surprised what awaits us. This is the ultimate experience with bush on one side and river o the other side. Managers Jean and Frances were excellent hosts and the staff were just as good. Meals are excellent and the rooms must be seen to appreciate. The elephant experience must not be missed because you will never have such an experience in your life again. We are from South Africa and are used to te bush but this is the ultimate. Thanks Jean and Frances for your hospitality - we will visit again soon.
