BOTSWANA TRAVEL GUIDE
Botswana is landlocked in the southern part of Africa. To the northeast of Botswana there is Zimbabwe, South Africa to the south and southeast and with Namibia to the west.

BOTSWANA QUICK FACTS
Botswana is one of few countries in Africa that was never colonised although it was a protectorate of England. It has one of the lowest population densities and some of the largest remaining herds of wildlife in the world. Due to the discovery of rich diamond mines in the middle of the 20th century, Botswana changed from being one of the poorest to one of the richest countries in Africa.

BOTSWANA ATTRACTIONS AND ACTIVITIES
Botswana is one of the finest tourist destinations on the African continent. The Okavango, which originates in the uplands of Angola to the north-west, flows into and then spreads over the sandy spaces of the Kalahari to form an immense and wondrous inland delta of lagoon and labyrinthine channel, palm-fringed island and fertile floodplain.

BOTSWANA CLIMATE
Botswana's climate is semi-arid. Though it is hot and dry for much of the year, there is a rainy season, which runs through the summer months. Rainfall tends to be erratic, unpredictable and highly regional.
