Coco Cabanas is set in a tranquil garden setting in Ponta do Ouro, Southern Mozambique. An easy walk to the beach (about 300m), restaurants and village shops will ensure that you don’t have to move your car from the safe parking area in front of Coco Cabanas. A 24-hour security guard will look after your jet skis, quad bikes and boats. For those who prefer to explore, there are a number of other beach resorts within easy driving distance. Deep-sea fishing, diving, snorkeling and dolphin swims can all be arranged through one of the professional operators in the village.
Coco Cabanas in Ponta do Ouro is now an easy drive from Johannesburg or Durban, on much improved roads. The 10km stretch of road from the Kosi Border post to Ponta do Ouro is best negotiated in a 4 x 4 vehicle. Entry visas are required by all foreigners visiting Mozambique and can be obtained from the Mozambican Consulate in either Johannesburg or Durban. Visas are also obtainable at the border post but at twice the cost. As this is a malaria area, we would recommend that you take the necessary precautions. We would also advise you to drink bottled water.
We have recently been connected to mains electricity and no longer run off a generator. However, we do utilize a pump for pressurized water from our own borehole. The water pressure pump operates from 06h00 to 12h00 and again from 14h00 to 22h00.
Our 14 self-catering cabanas offer basic, clean and comfortable accommodation, and sleep a maximum of 4 people each in either a one or two bedroom configuration.
All bedding is supplied but towels and dishcloths are excluded. The cabanas are serviced daily and have their own bathroom with shower and a small kitchenette equipped with a two-plate gas stove, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans. Communal freezers located at reception are available for your use. Each cabana is also equipped with table and chairs and it’s own portable braai.
The communal braai and dining area is the ideal place to socialize and meet new friends and enjoy the relaxed and friendly atmosphere typical of Coco Cabanas and Ponta do Ouro. A variety of games as well as a sand pit with buckets and spades will ensure that children are entertained for hours on end.

We were 15 friends that visited the Coco Cabanas last December. It was neat and clean and more than we expected for the price we paid. the atmosphere is great with section braai's and the lapa have great memories now. I will recommend this space for people looking to enjoy the nature of Mozambique. This is not a five start luxury place but will most defenitely support all your needs.
