Itinerary

Day 1 JOHANNESBURG to KRUGER NATIONAL PARK (±460km) Sawubona and welcome to the first day of your unforgettable South African Safari. This morning you will be collected from your Johannesburg hotel by our professional tourist guide, and head East into the lush and scenic beauty of Mpumalanga. Travelling via the sub-tropical Lowveld via Machadodorp, before entering South Africa’s largest conservation area, the Kruger National Park. The Park forms part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park. This peace park links the Kruger National Park with Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe, and with the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique and is 20 000 square kilometers in size, roughly the size of the Netherlands. Your bushveld experience will start with a guided afternoon game drive in a closed safari cruiser, seeking out the “Big 5” and other rare and endangered species. The Kruger National Park offers a stunning range of fauna and flora which include: 147 mammals, 114 reptiles and 336 tree species, some of which are endemic to the park. Return to your rest camp for dinner. Berg-en-dal Rest Camp or similar – dinner, bed and breakfast Day 2 FULL DAY IN THE KRUGER NATIONAL PARK (±250km) Grab your camera and embark on a pre-breakfast game drive in a closed vehicle. The early morning is a wonderful time to pursue sightings of our wild friends and beasts at their morning routines. In its immense botanic diversity, the Kruger National Park boasts 16 macro eco zones. The Northern eco zones are predominantly mopane veld while in the South it is thornveld. The park is also home to 507 bird species and 1 982 plant species. The abundant variety ensures an unforgettable bushveld experience. Stop for lunch (own account) at one of the camp’s numerous scenic settings. With the bush firmly entrenched in your senses, you will be returned to the rest camp to freshen up before dinner. After breakfast, travel through Mpumalanga via Graskop and Long Tom Pass. Enjoy lunch (own account) en route. Continue your journey back to the City of Gold, Johannesburg to your hotel OR Tambo International Airport. What is a Rest Camp? A ‘Rest Camp’ is a campsite found on a safari, where safari-goers rest after travelling in the bush. The ‘new generation’ Rest Camps used in the Kruger National Park are brick or stone cottages or bungalows, usually with a thatched roof. All cottages/bungalows have private en-suite facilities (toilet, shower and wash basin) and air-conditioning.
