With short and long term guests from the four corners of the earth rubbing elbows with local villagers, Basambilu Lodge & Tours is a fascinating accommodation to engage in a lively conversation with a fellow traveller or village elder. The lush garden with indigenous trees will invite you for a laid-back afternoon and the swimming pool is the spot to cool off. You can enjoy a cold drink at the palm tree lapa bar & lounge then stick around to enjoy your own set up African braai! The traditional style Rondavels will offer you a uniquely African accommodation to sleep and you’ll awaken to the chorus of hundreds of local birds. Holiday Packages There’s no such thing as one size fits all at Living Africa. Let the Living Africa team create the holiday of your dreams and put together a blend of activities and accommodation that suites your passions and your pocket. They will make it as personal as you like. We recommend staying for at least 5 days, but flexibility is on your side (even for 1 night we will come up with something special). Let them know how much time you have! Be warned though, boredom is not their specialty. Don’t be surprised if you want to stay longer! Living Africa has prepared 4 exciting holiday packages which offer activities for nearly everyone. Even if you want to arrange something completely different the Living Africa team will help you on your request. This is a volun-tourism package which combines your holiday with volunteering at LekaGape orphanage. Basambilu Lodge & Tours This in African style build lodge is the home base of Living Africa. Basambilu Lodge & Tours is based in the centre of the township Lulekani (Ba-Phalaborwa) and is having a weekly entertainment program full with African culture & music. LekaGape Living Africa takes pride in supporting LekaGape’s orphanage and pre-school as our social responsibility. Many students and volunteers from around the world have already given their time to lekaGape during the past years.

Directions To Living Africa

Johannesburg/Pretoria You can either choose the N1 Freeway to Polokwane continuing on the R71 passing through Tzaneen and Gravelotte. Or you follow the N12 and N4 up to Belfast, continuing to Lydenburg, Hoedspruit. Estimate approximately 5 to 6 hours. 15 KM before Phalaborwa you will find the Lulekani sign on your left hand side. Turn left at the junction. See for further directions Lulekani. Polokwane/Tzaneen Follow the R71 straight to Phalaborwa. 15 KM before Phalaborwa you will find the Lulekani sign on your left hand side. Turn left at the junction. See for further directions Lulekani. Nelspruit/Hoedspruit Follow the R40 all the way up to Phalaborwa. At the 4-way stop close to Phalaborwa you go straight. You don’ follow the Phalaborwa sign. At the next T-junction you turn left in Tzaneen direction. Immediately on that road (R71) you turn right to Lulekani. See for further directions Lulekani. Phalaborwa airport Turn left just outside the airport. At the T-junction turn left, you enter a 4-way stop. Turn right. You are now at the Hendrick van Eck. Drive straight through the first, second and third set of traffic lights. You’re leaving Phalaborwa. This is the R71, Tzaneen direction. Approximately 15 KM outside Phalaborwa you’ll find the sign Lulekani at the T-junction. Turn right. See for further direction Lulekani. Kruger National Park Gate Drive straight through the first, second and third set of traffic lights. You’re leaving Phalaborwa. This is the R71, Tzaneen direction. Approximately 15 KM outside Phalaborwa you’ll find the sign Lulekani at the T-junction. Turn right. See for further direction Lulekani. Lulekani Follow the road into Lulekani until you enter a T-junction with opposite a Shell Garage, you turn right before the garage. The first road you turn left, this is Akanani Street. General Policies & Disclaimers

Transfers can be offered, preferably pre-booked. Airport pick-up or drop-off will be charged R 75-00 one way per car. Basambilu Lodge is having wireless internet and a phone line which can be used for also international calls. A fee will be charged. We offer secured parking inside the lodge. We are asking a key deposit of R 50-00. All bookings made within 14 days of arrival must be settled in full, prior to arrival. We reserve the right to cancel bookings without notice should the pre-payment policy not be adhered to. Cancellation policy Should the reservation be cancelled: • More than 45 days prior to arrival an administration fee of R 100-00 will be charged; • Within 35 – 45 days prior to arrival 25% of full amount will be charged; • Within 25 – 35 days prior to arrival 75% of full amount will be charged; • Within 25 days prior to arrival full amount will be charged.
