I recently stayed at Ras Nungwi on vacation, I'm an international resort and hospitality photographer, needed a break like everyone else does. Needless to say, I'm amazingly picky about resorts, since I know the ins and outs of the business, have shot some of the finest five star resorts everywhere from Bora Bora to the Maldives to Bali to India to Morrocco, you name it. I honestly had one of the most enjoyable and relaxing trips ever, fabulous staff, management, and ownership, amazing food every meal, beautiful beaches and Indian Ocean water, great accomadations( I stayed in the Ocean Suite, very private and intimate). I highly recommend Ras Nungwi, I would go back in a minute!

My husband and I were here in late February for four days after a two week safari! Beautiful and quiet is just what we were hoping for and this place didn't disappoint. The pool was small but nice, (they had had several power outages and were cleaning it, so we weren't allowed in it on one day), it could use a bigger deck as the handful of chairs do fill up quickly. The beach, especially at low, low tide was soft white sand...beautiful! We grabbed a couple of kayaks one day and paddled out towards the reef, so fun to be on the water! Food was yummy and the staff was very sweet. We ate two dinners by total candlelight (power outages) which was a bit of an adventure! Except for a few glitches, we enjoyed our stay there immensely!
