Tsitsikamma National Park, Addo Elephant National Park
Enjoy a tour through enchanting South Africa, with visits to the much loved Garden Route, Tsitsikamma National Park, and Addo Elephant National Park.
Day 1 - Addo Elephant National Park
After meeting your guides and group, we head to Addo Elephant NP. This unique Eastern Cape park is home to one of the densest concentrations of African elephants on earth as well as boasting the ‘Big Seven’(elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo, leopard, southern right whale and great white shark) as Addo is a land and marine park.
Day 2 - Tsitsikamma National Park
This morning we will make a quick stop at Port Elizabeth’s airport and arrive in the afternoon at Tsitsikamma. The name means ‘place of abundant water’ and it does not disappoint, with its indigenous forests and dramatic coastline. This area is home to the famous multi-day Otter Trail hike and the first few hours of this hike is included in your Activity Package.
Day 3 - Tsitsikamma National Park
As today is free for you to explore the small village of Storms River, why not spend your time participating in the optional activities available such as blackwater tubing, jumping the highest bungee jump in the world Bloukrans or discover the Tsitsikamma rainforest from above by joining one of the treetop canopy tours on offer.
Day 4 - Knysna / Plettenberg Bay
It is a short distance to Plettenberg Bay. In the afternoon you can choose between remaining to relax at the resort or taking a short excursion into nearby Knysna to explore.
Day 5 – Oudtshoorn
Today we travel through the magnificent Outeniqua Mountains towards Oudtshoorn where we visit the world-famous Cango Caves. The caves contain spectacular halls and grand limestone formations, and a local guide will tell you all about the cave system, which extends for over 4km.
Day 6 - Oudtshoorn – Grabouw
We take a scenic drive to Grabouw, taking in some of Route 62 and a possible stop at Ronnie’s Sex Shop, not a sex shop at all, but a rather interesting country pub… Today we will visit the Kraal Gallery, a family business that trains, employs & empowers women to become qualified master weavers. Here you will have the opportunity to participate in the 2-3 hour “Weaverbird course”, where your teacher will guide you through the steps of making your own take-home weaved sample. Later in the evening, we will enjoy some wine tasting and a dinner out at one of the local wine farms in the area. (a portion of this activity may take place the following day).
Day 7 - Stellenbosch – Cape Town
After a leisurely breakfast, we will make our way to Stellenbosch which forms the heart of the Western Cape’s wine region and second oldest European settlement in the Western Cape.
