Located on the banks of the Sand River lies Tengile River Lodge whose name means ‘tranquil’ in the local language. This magnificent lodge features nine enormous, air-conditioned, secluded suites, dotted in the dappled shade of the bushveld, each with panoramic river views. In addition to the main en-suite bedroom with outdoor shower, there is a lounge and dining area, fully-stocked bar, coffee station, outdoor seating and dining area and a private lap pool with sunken outdoor lounge overlooking the Sand River.
For families, two of the lodge’s suites are joined by a walkway to create a family suite. The main viewing deck is an incredible highlight and the library has a collection of curated objects and interesting books. Bespoke furniture, striking fabrics and unique décor pieces have been used to create a truly wonderful safari lodge. The Sabi Sand Game Reserves enjoy a great diversity of wildlife, including the Big Five, and shares an unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park.
The area is well known for its prolific leopard sights. Choose from a variety of activities such as twice-daily game drives and evening safaris, interpretive bush and nature walks, photography lessons, birdwatching, star gazing and photographic safaris.
