Title: Baraza -the most amazing holiday in Zanzibar
The most beautiful and welcoming hotel, fragrant flowers in a cool fountain and fresh cloths and warm smiles greet you as you arrive. A totally relaxing spa, large pool, expansive beach front of white smooth pure sand and tropical fish on your doorstep. Delicious fresh food, lots of tempting choices and endless fruit smoothies and juices by the pool to keep you comfortable! High quality pool side entertainment in the evening, such as a local troop of acrbats from Stone Town and plenty to do during the day. Games room and kind carers on hand to look after children, table tennis and table football, snorkeling, boat trips, volley ball in the evening for the active. A dive centre to learn to scuba and kite surfing, windsurfing or catamaran available to sail. Wonderful air conditioned large rooms, wonderful nurse on hand if needed, enormous attention to detail at every turn. Perfect for honeymooners, families or couples and great international mix of clientel. Attentive smiling helpful staff, enormous employer and training centre for local people. Everyone a winner!
Title: Baraza - One of the best in the world??
My wife and I stayed at Baraza for 8 days in February 2012. We have been travelling long haul for many years. It was a truly amazing experience from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble and the prawn curries were the best. Fantastic service from very friendly attentive staff, wonderful food with great variety (you can ask for whatever you want), large spacious villas (no rooms), spectacular gardens considering Baraza has only been open 3 years, stunning architecture (the architect deserves an award if not already given). My wife tells me the spa was exceptional in every way. Sun umbrellas on the beach reserved for each villa is a plus. When we were there there were only 24 guests and 200 staff! Baraza has only 30 villas so 60 guests plus children is the maximum. Luxury on a grand scale. 5 star plus plus, no stuffiness. They are already getting repeat guests which says it all. All guests we spoke to expressed a desire to return. We have never returned to a place for a second visit (the world needs exploring) but for Baraza we would make an exception and we have started saving!

We have stayed with our 2 sons at Baraza for 7 days. We stayed in the lovely and very spacious 2 bedroom villa. The service was Top class, the facilities very good, the food excellent, the place a dream, good water sports activities. The staff always made us feel welcome and special.

Zanzibar was a last minute choice for us and we were not disappointed with Baraza. It was wonderful in every aspect. It stands out for both my husband and me. We both travel frequently for both business and pleasure and everything about this resort was superb. It was 5 star, professional but without being stuffy. For our 11 year old son it was also a great destination. The staff were very attentive but were well trained not to be intrusive. The accommodation was excellent and we all enjoyed the food. We found there was a good choice to suit us all. We enjoyed some great fishing in the lagoon. The chef kindly prepared the fish we caught. We all learnt to dive and enjoyed the snorkelling. We look forward to going back.
