We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and even stayed an extra night we liked it so much! The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The food in the restaurant was excellent and we had a 3-course dinner included in the price of our room. There was a wonderful pool, which was really important because the tide on Paje goes out a long way, so you can't really swim for a large part of the day. Fabulous sandy beach and lots of other places to walk to for lunch if you want. It seemed like a really good deal and we were extremely pleased with the service and food. We stayed while the power was out on the whole of Zanzibar.

I was perplexed by the very mixed reviews of the Cristal Resort, and didn't know what to expect. But we found the (small) resort to be very good value, on a beautiful beach with a good-sized pool. The staff let us inspect various rooms before deciding what we wanted, and we chose a non-AC room which was perfectly adequate as it is open to the sea breezes on three sides. The food was good, and plentiful, and the resort seems to attract all sorts of guests, from local expatriate families to tourists, including young people and older people. I'd rate this highly in terms of value for money.

My husband and I stayed 5 nights at Cristal Resort and enjoyed it very much. We enjoyed the long walks on the beach, and the swims in the sea and the swimming pool. The Beach Rooms with AC are really nice, and very pleasant to rest after a walk in the heath. We had Half Board (HB), which we would really recommend, and especially loved the 3 course dinners. If you are looking for a place where you can rest, relax, recreate and reflect Cristal Resort is the place to be!
