Ivory Tree Game Lodge is situated in the north eastern region of the Pilanesberg National Park, the closest point of entry is through Bakgatla Gate. Nestled in the basin of an ancient amphitheatre divided by riverine woodlands and elephant trails lies an exclusive private game lodge. The images below depict several aspects of the lodge. The central facility includes, stunning feature pool, bar, conference room, dinning room, boma, reception and curio shop.
Most of our guests are at Ivory Tree for the thrill of the open vehicle safari. Ivory Tree uses custom built 10 seater open game viewers which permit maximum all around visibility. The park is home to a wide variety of general game including the Big 5, in addition both species of rhino occur, namely black and white, and cheetah and wild dog. Each group of guests is assigned a personal guide who is tasked with interpreting the sights and sounds of the African bush. Your guide will spend time with you at dinners aswell and is always around to ensure that you remain comfortable during your stay with us.

Situated in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve, access to the lodge is either by road or by air from Johannesburg. The reserve is approximately 2 hours drive from Johannesburg, guests would route via Hartebeestpoort before proceeding west along the clearly marked route. The lodge is accessed via Bakgatla Gate. Road transfers are available from most areas in Gauteng. Title: Four of the Big five
Ivory Tree Lodge is a great place! The facility and staff were wonderful. The games runs were the highlight of this trip, and William is a wonderful ranger! We saw four of the big five during our stay!! William also had an eagle's eye for the smaller things, like pointing out a small chameleon in a bush on a night run. William is da man!! Thanks William for making this an amazing experience!
Title: Weekend Away
Spent a weekend away at Ivory Tree and I could not have asked for a better experience. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The venue is spectacular and the game drives and one in a million. The Chef Alex creates meals that makes you wanna eat more and more. But with all the delicious meals there's only so much you can eat before you put on an extra 50 pounds. Thanks to Ivory Tree and Alex for a fantastic weekend away.

We spent 3 nights at the Ivory Tree Game Lodge and had a wonderful time. The Safari's were an excellent experience and the most memorable. We owe a special thanks to our ranger William, for the excellent services provided to us by him.He has a great sense of humour and fantastic knowledge on the whole game reserve and everything related to it.
