It was the "Jameson Raid" that took place close to our farm that inspired the name, Jameson Country Cottages. We have six beautifully appointed Victorian styled self-catering units, which can comfortably accommodate up to 18 people. All the units are furnished individually, and have a homely feel. Some units have items from the owner's personal collection of antiques and other interesting collectables. All the cottages are individually furnished with cane, oregon and wrought iron. Relax and enjoy the fresh country air for a weekend or even a few days and explore what the Magaliesburg and surrounds have to offer. We have a pool where you can spend hours lounging and taking in the rays, or on cold winter nights you can snuggle up in front of your fireplace or oil heater. There are wonderful local walks, hiking trails and mountain bike trails available close by for the outdoor lovers. All our units are fully equipped for self-catering accommodation. But if you do not feel like cooking, Magaliesburg plays host to dozens of very good local restaurants, hotels & guest lodges, all willing to provide you with an excellent meal. Booking is advised beforehand as Magaliesburg has become one of South Africa's premiere playgrounds for visitors from Johannesburg and Pretoria, who are looking for a de-stressing weekend only one hour away.

Jameson Country Cottages Amenities

Cottage 1: This is a large open plan bedroom, lounge and part kitchen. There is a day bed for an optional 3rd person/child (under 14 years of age) charged at R 150.00 per night (NOT APPLICABLE TO A 3rd ADULT UNLESS PART OF A GROUP BOOKING) It is the only stone and thatch cottage we have & leads right onto the pool. The bathroom is separate from the bedroom & is a full bathroom with Victorian. The patio is private & has braai/bbq facilities. The cottage does not have a fireplace but is still very warm & cozy during winter as there is a big oil heater. It is lovely & cool during summer with a ceiling fan. Serviced daily, Complimentary tea, coffee & biscuits. We offer a turndown service. *Inter-leading to number 2 (booked together, both units are ideal for larger families) Cottage 2: This cottage is suitable for two adults and two children sharing. It is a larger cottage with one 1 master bedroom which is lovely & spacious with the bathroom is en-suite. The bathroom has a big bath with a hand shower, no separate shower. The open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area is very spacious & leads onto a lovely large patio. The lounge has a corner fireplace, perfect to warm up the unit in winter. The cottage also has a ceiling fan in both bedroom and lounge. There is a double sleeper couch in the lounge for the children. Serviced daily, Complimentary tea, coffee & biscuits. We offer a turndown service. *Inter-leading to number 1 (booked together, both units are ideal for larger families; 2 adults and 3 kids) Cottage 3: This cottage sleeps a maximum of two people only. (Please note that no exceptions will be made for young children or babies sharing with parents) This is a lovely open plan studio style cottage with a small galley kitchen and a small breakfast counter. Has a ceiling fan and heater. It offers all the characteristics of our larger units like the complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits & turn down service. This cottage has a lovely spacious en-suite bathroom with a shower only, no bath. The cottage has a private Patio with braai/bbq facilities. *Inter-leading to number 4 Cottage 4: This is a large one-bedroom cottage, suitable for 2 adults & two children. The master bedroom has a king size bed. Has a lovely fireplace in the lounge & ceiling fan in both bedroom and lounge. The cottage has a full bathroom with Victorian bath & a shower. The lounge/dining/kitchen area is open plan. There is a sleeper couch in the lounge for the children. Private patio with braai/bbq facilities. *Inter-leading to number 3 Cottage 5: This cottage sleeps a maximum of two people only. We have complimentary tea, coffee and sugar, accompanied with biscuits.
All the patios have wrought iron furniture with braai facilities.
Communal Braais are available on request for larger parties.
Each cottage has a ceiling fan and a heater.
Cottages 2, 4 and 6 have fireplaces.
Our cottages are serviced daily and we offer a turn down service.
Fire wood and firelighters available on request, cost will be deducted from your security deposits if not paid for.

All units are fully equipped for self-catering. There is a 50% surcharge for one-night bookings over a weekend. The same applies to long weekends. Single beds on request.
