Khwai Tented Camp is located within the Khwai Community area, a community-run concession on the Eastern border of the Moremi Game Reserve. The exclusive location of the lodge, on the banks of a lagoon flowing into the Khwai River, acts as a boundary between the reserve and the community area, offering visitors of the lodge several unique ways to experience Africa. Access to the lodge is from the Khwai Airstrip – a 30 minute air transfer from Maun Airport, or a 1 hour air transfer from Kasane Airport.

Khwai Tented Camp Amenities

Consisting of 6 spacious meru style tents, Khwai Tented Camp is elegantly set up on wooden decking overlooking the tranquil waters of the lagoon. Accommodation includes en-suite bathroom facilities with flush toilets and romantic al-fresco bucket showers. The main lounge and dining area is set on wooden decking with simple yet stylist furnishings which provide an aura of both colonial and traditional African eras.

Area Attractions

The area is prolific in birdlife and wildlife species including elephant, buffalo, the rare sitatunga and the larger predators. Activities include game drives, walking safaris, evening game drives and mokoro safaris. As one of the most consistent areas in terms of wildlife and predator sightings, Khwai remains one of the most popular and sought after areas for travellers looking for an authentic African safari experience.

General Policies & Disclaimers

The lodge is open all year round. Children of all ages are welcome however children under the age of 16 years are not able to do the walking safaris. Nature walks around the camp are offered as an alternative.
