Mara Serena Safari Lodge is 170 miles from Nairobi but because much of the road is not in optimum condition, the journey can take 6-7 hours. For this reason the majority of visitors elect to take one of the daily flights from Nairobi which deliver the passengers direct to the Mara Serena Safari Lodge via its own landing strip.Area Attractions

This hotel is on a hill with very privileged views of the Conservancy Triangle (the best part of the Masai Mara park). The price includes breakfast, lunch and dinner (but not alcohol). Service is really good and the food is of surprising quality considering you are in the middle of nowhere. WiFi is available for an extra charge of around $4 an hour, there is cell phone reception throughout the hotel. Rooms have great views although rooms shape is a bit narrow. The helpful staff helped us organize transportation in Kenya from the airport to the hotel and back at reasonable prices. There is a landing strip about 5 minutes away from the lodge so you can comfortably fly in from Nairobi.

Was booked in with friends for a 2 night stay on full board. This is definitely a lovely hotel with a great character. The service right from the warm welcome and quick check -in was impeccable. The food on the buffet was superb and our quarters absolutely comfortable with a view of impalas and many other animals just beneath our balcony. The property is green and clean, what is surprising is that the house keeping personnel are literally invisible, as goes the jargon " attentive but not intrusive". FAAAANTASTIIIIIIC! Mara Serena.

What Can I say. We traveled in the rainy season so there were very few people here and we got first class service. I mean super personal attention. The game drives were great, the pool fine for those times between looking for animals. The view from the room was fantastic and the hotel itself was like living in a Gaudi building. The food was good. I especially enjoyed the breakfast at the hippo pool.

The first thing that struck me from the moment we arrived at the Mara Serena Lodge was the view. There is a spectacular view of the Maasai Mara from every room! We saw giraffes, warthogs and various ungulates just by gazing out from the balcony. The sunrises in the mornings were absolutely breathtaking. My group also enjoyed the bonfire that was built near the main lodge in the evenings, perfect for enjoying a few drinks and listening to the hotel's guitar player. The beds were comfortable and the food was pleasing towards most palettes.I would like to go back and try the hot air balloon ride safari.
