Powder white beaches, turquoise sea, unbelievable seafood. If youre looking for a little piece of paradise then Matemo Island Resort is the place for you. We flew in from Pemba in a light plane the views of the sparkling ocean were fantastic. Clear blue water and if youre really lucky you may even spot a whale or two.

stayed at Matemo Island Resort just before Christmas 2011. What an amazing experience. From the very beginning and right to the end. Flights were pleasant enough, and everything ran smoothly despite the 3 stops made on the journey. The real adventure began when you step onto the small charter plane which takes you to Matemo Island. From Pemba you will see some of the most beautiful azure waters and uninhabited islands anywhere in the world. The short 15 min trip will be spent staring down on this picture perfect wonderland

Good day Marian I recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at Matemo Island. The young lady was WONDERFUL.I cannot say enough about how well she looked after us and even took us to the airport the following day in her own car. She deserves a huge bonus and big recognition. She went about her duties to accommodate us and make things right from the Saturday lunchtime until she personally dropped us off at the airport the next morning. Please send my sincere gratitude and best wishes to her. For the life of me I cannot remember her name but would recognize her anywhere. I am most grateful to wonderful people like this. Best regards and thanks to the Matemo team for making our stay superb. Loved the island, food, management and service staff and the entire experience. Sincerely James Lewis
