Nedile Lodge is nestled deep within the Malaria-free Welgevonden Private Game Reserve. Guests are met by pure luxury, warm hospitality and activities to enjoy. The lodge offers a truly African experience, far from the stress and turmoil of daily life. Just three hours north of Johannesburg, the Reserve is a popular weekend destination of those wanting to escape the bustling city life. The 36 000 hectare reserve is a declared Heritage Site. Guests at Nedile are assured not only of superb accommodation and service, but also the finest of natural splendors. The lodge can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests in 5 luxurious Suites. Each of the stylish Suites have been positioned between rocky outcrops on a north-facing slope, and are complimented perfectly by breathtaking views of the Waterberg Mountains. Two of the Suites may be used as family units with an inter-leading entrance hall. Each Suite at Nedile has been designed for complete privacy, relaxation and comfort, and has a private deck, fireplace, ceiling fan, indoor and outdoor showers, and an invitingly luxurious bathroom. The main lodge, or public area at Nedile, with its African theme, comprises a bar, dining room and comfortable lounge. Guests are invited to sit back, relax and take in the peace and tranquility of the surroundings, all while experiencing the warmth of South African hospitality. Rates at the lodge include your nightly accommodation, three meals and 2 game drives daily. Gate feeds, Conservation Levy and beverages as well as all items of a personal nature are excluded and need to be settled direct at the lodge. Private vehicles are not permitted to drive around in the Welgevonden Reserve, and therefore return transfers between West Gate and the lodge are included in the rates at set times. Should guests need transfers between the Gate and Lodge outside of the set times, an additional cost will apply.

Directions To Nedile Lodge

Directions to Nedile Lodge (Welgevonden Game Reserve): Follow the N1 north to Polokwane (Pietersburg). About 130km you will find the Kranskop Tollgate, pass through and keep left to follow the off-ramp to Modimolle (Nylstroom). Pass through Modimolle (Nylstroom) 11km further, and a further 60km you will pass through Vaalwater. After Vaalwater past the garage, (Spar on left hand side), continue straight on the road towards Bulgerivier and Thabazimbi, do not turn right on the R33 towards Ellisras. 25km out of Vaalwater you will find the Main Gate to the Welgevonden Game Reserve on your left but past the main gate for a further 22km to the Schoongelegen turnoff. Turn left onto Schoongelegen dirt road. Here is also a road sign indicating the Welgevonden West Gate. Continue along this road for a further 17km past Manual Gate to the West Gate on your left hand side. We ask that once you have reached Vaalwater, please contact the Lodge 082 859 1443. There is no more cell phone reception until you reach Nedile Lodge. You will be picked up at the gate with an open game viewer. Your vehicle will stay at the West Gate parked behind elephant proof electric fences with 24 hours security. If other wise arrange pick up times at West-Gate on day of arrival is 12:00 and drop off on day of departure at 11:00.

Area Attractions

The lodge is situated in the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, a 36 000 hectare reserve situated in the heart of the Waterberg. It boasts beautifully unspoilt, malaria-free bushveld which is home not only to Africa’s Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo), but also houses a vast array of bird and animal life, including giraffe, kudu, impala, wildebeest, red hartebeest, tsessebe, gemsbok, waterbuck and warthog. The Welgevonden is also a sanctuary for some of Africa’s rare and unusual animal species like the brown hyena, aardwolf, aardvark and honey badger – all best spotted during evening game drives.
