This comfortable and intimate Lodge on the banks of a tributary to the dry Monwana River, accommodates eight guests in varied accommodation choices. There are three luxury Suites, each with excellent vistas from both bedroom and bathroom large windows to the watering hole. As an alternative for families, is a family suite, completely self contained with three suites, two downstairs and one suite upstairs, a reception room with open fireplace between the two downstairs bedrooms. Guests can choose which accommodation choice best suits their requirements, but to a maximum of eight guests. An exclusive Boma, Bar area close to the Lodges swimming pool makes for an ideal venue for rest and refreshment. The Lodge is perfectly located and set amongst a wide variety of tress providing shade and an abundance of birdlife.

With the added option of a three-bedroomed family suite and elevated viewing hides, Serondella Lodge is an ideal safari destination for families and photographers alike. Here in the riverine forests on the banks of a tributary of the Monwana watercourse in the heart of the Thornybush Nature Reserve are three carefully designed suites, in addition to the optional family suite, accommodating a maximum of eight guests ensuring guests complete privacy and stunning vistas. The viewing hides allow bird lovers an excellent opportunity to encounter the game reserve’s 507 different species of bird as well as regular visits by other animals. The fact that Serondella can accommodate a maximum of eight means that guests will have the hosts undivided attention for the duration of their stay. Surprise bush and boma dinners as well as intimate sunset dinners for two on the viewing hides are the very least the astute guest can expect from Serondella Lodge.

Directions To Serondella Game Lodge

From Johannesburg to Serondella Game Lodge The N12 to Witbank, where the N12 highway links up with the N4 highway. Continue with the N4 in the direction Nelspruit. Approximately 30 km past Middleburg take the R 540 to your left. Travel though on the town of Belfast and Dullstroom to Lydenburg. Take the R 36 (which becomes to R 527) towards Hoedspruit, passing through Origstad and descending down the Able Erasmus Pass. At Hoedspruit take the R 40 south towards Bushbuckridge. Continue 6 km and turn left at the Eastgate Airport sign / Argyle Road. Continue 14 km (tarred road) and turn right onto Guernsey Road (following the signs to Thornybush Reserve) Continue 9km (gravel road) and turn left into the Thornybush Game Reserve gate. Area Attractions

Panorama Tour Tour guide will collect guests from various lodges at around 09h00, but alternative pick up times can be arranged to suit clients needs. Route covered is usually Abel Erasmus Pass, Graskop (lunch excluded), God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Three Rondawels and other Panorama route attractions. Time is allowed to shop for curios at various excellent shops and local craft vendors along the way. This is one of the most scenic routes in the region. Return at approx. 17h00. Cheetah Breeding Project As one of the country's leading private research and breeding facilities, this unique project concerns itself with the breeding and protection of several endangered indigenous wildlife species in Southern Africa. Initially established as a breeding centre for cheetah, this centre soon expanded to include many other endangered species. Balloon Safari (Private Launches also available) Imagine drifting soundlessly in the crisp morning air while below you herds of elephant and other game move across the landscape. Early morning balloon excursions are offered at all the Thornybush Game Reserve Lodges instead of a game drive. They are subject to availability and weather conditions. Flight Of The Dragon The magnificent Drakensburg escarpment (Dragons mountain) rears 1900 meters from the Bushveld to the west of the lodge. View this exquisite region from the comfort of a light aircraft or helicopter. The fixed wing aircraft departs from Thornybush Airstrip for an hour’s flight along the escarpment including aerial views of the mighty Blyde River Canyon and the aptly named Gods Window. Rate includes a stop at our private mountain stream for a swim in the cool waters and a lovely picnic lunch.
