I did arrive in Hakuna Majiwe by chance and I loved it. I mean, I use to travel alone, and for a woman is not always nice. But in this place I really found a primordial peace wich made me feel completly myself (and sometime it is difficult in a muslim country). The staff is super warm, welcoming, and helpfull....

We came to stay at the Hakuna Maijwe after spending 17 days on safari on the mainland. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The staff was friendly and the food was excellent. The rooms are clean and confortable. We had a great time!

I stayed at the Hakuna Majiwe during January. First impressions were excellent - grand entrance to a lovely bar and restaurant and a relaxed atmosphere. Bungalow was perfect with a large bathroom. Air conditioning would have been nice but the large fan kept things cool enough. The room was very clean and had everything needed. We booked half board so ate in the restaurant every night. To be honest, I think this was the best thing to do as any other restuarant or place to eat is quite a way away. The food wasn't wonderful but wasn't terrible either and there was a decent choice every night. Breakfast however, was always lovely, with fresh fruit and someone on hand to prepare eggs and toast. The beach was fantastic and the fact that the tide is out for most of the day was fine with me as it was far too hot out between 11 and 3 anyway. If you do want to swim during the day there is a large swimming pool that was usually deserted when we visited. I recommend that you take a trip out to the reef for snorkelling (snorkels are availailable to borrow from the main reception desk free of charge). Also, pay a visit to the shop where you can have a beautiful piece of clothing to your exact measurements made within 24 hours. All in all, a lovely place that I would recommend for a relaxing holiday
