Don't be fooled by Kasane's ramshackle appearance: it is superbly located. Situated near the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi rivers, and close to Botswana's borders with Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe it is the ideal stopover and resupply spot for travellers to points east, west, north and south. For years tourists have been using Kasane as a gateway to the Chobe National Park and it is the perfect base for explorations into the Chobe and beyond: the Savuti region or Okavango Delta and the surrounding areas like Namibia's Caprivi Strip and Victoria Falls.
