The Sabi Sand Reserve is certainly the birthplace of sustainable wildlife tourism in South Africa; it is also the oldest of all the private reserves in South Africa. Having only ever been a wilderness area; a vast wildlife population make this magical reserve their home, including The Big Five, as well as a number of endangered species too. Flanking the Kruger National Park, animals pass unhindered between the unfenced reserves. Two rivers supply the game reserve with water. The Sand River flows through the reserve for 50km (31 miles) from North West to South East whilst the Sabie River flows on the southern boundary. These rivers ensure that the park enjoys one of the highest and most bio-diverse wildlife populations of any area in Africa. Over two hundred different species live in abundance, making the Sabi Sand Game Reserve a must see for any Safari Goer. The Sabi Sand Reserve boasts a selection of unique lodges for every budget. Luxury or simple and comfortable accommodations are available all with breathtaking landscapes, delicious meals, expert guides & rangers and lifelong memories are part and parcel of a Sabi Sand Safari Experience – not to mention outstanding game experiences.
